Looking down Lyon Street: this could be so much greener

The Green Turk and Lyon project is all about community -- people envisioning a more sustainable, more livable environment and then making it happen.

You can help in so many ways
  • Join us for our first fundraiser on Wednesday, May 25th, 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Chile Pies restaurant at 601 Baker & Fulton. $15-$20 donation at the door. Entry gets you a coupon for a free treat: pie or drink. Meet and party with neighbors and friends. Live music. Great cause.
  • Donate to help the project do more: send check payable to St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church, 2097 Turk, SF 94115; add "Green Turk and Lyon" in the memo on check; 100% of these donations will be dedicated to the greening the corner project.
  • Volunteer to review design plans -- send your contact info to greenturkandlyon@gmail.com . We have some great renderings to stir our imaginations. We'll be organizing a community drop-in review and sidewalk stroll soon.
  • Help with construction (remove concrete, haul debris away -- although we expect to re-purpose much of it in the design) -- send your contact info to greenturkandlyon@gmail.com
  • Consult on plant selection
  • Volunteer for the workday this summer -- date to be announced
  • Start a matching grant to help us meet budget goals and complete the project
  • Adopt-a-bench or bike rack or design feature (request info from greenturkandlyon@gmail.com)
